3 Weeks After Circumcision

Today marks the complete 3rd week since my recent adult circumcision. 1 week ago exactly I got the majority of my sutures removed. On a scale from 1-10, the discomfort level from the beginning (at a 10 max) was at about a 4 to 5 throughout the majority of the week. There was minor discomfort thru out the day for the most part but with careful underwear techniques its been manageable.

Today was the very first day I walked completely normally and was in no sense of discomfort for the entire day. Of course there were moments of slight, minute discomfort, but it was not bad at all. I would rate today at a 2, or 3 on my scale of 1-10.

Swelling after 3 Weeks

The swelling has definitly subsided, but still has a ways to go. A lot of the major bruising has gone away and my penis length has returned to its normal size. It is just a bit fat and the darn swollen ring isn't going away as fast as I would like it to. The ring is getting a smaller and now the corona/rim of the penis head is finally revealed. The rim is very tender and has been quite sensitive. It was hardly ever exposed before being circed. I have been wearing silky soft nylon boxers as my first layer, then a tighter pair of undies over it to hold things in place. The friction of the rim rubbing even in soft nylon briefs was bothersome to the tender rim. Over the last few days it is starting to keratanize and be able to handle more touch.

There is still a bit of soft white stuff secreting from my frenulum area, but it does not leak. It's just like wet tissue. At this point, I am worrying much less about the healing and accepting the fact its going to take 3 weeks or even longer for all the swelling to go away. Things are improving surely, and reading that other people can take aslong as 5-6 months for 100% of the healing to go away (however I think this happens for much fewer people than most - al though I am not 100% certain), I am prepared for the worst.

Night time Erections & Not Masturbating Just Yet

Nighttime erections have been quite painful and bothersome in the morning. I get awoken to a tight feeling in my penis every morning in the early hours. It takes a while to get rid of the erection but once it does the pain goes away. The pain is like a throbbing/stretching feeling. Because there is still a swollen head and the soft tissue it consists of is folded like a collar around my penis head, it makes it quite difficult for the penis to stretch. There is also 1 or 2 stitches in the frenulum area (which is also quite swollen still) that probably is also accountable for the pain during erections.

This is the longest I've ever gone without masturbation. I had a few very horny moments, but I've been managing my sexual desires pretty damn well surprisingly. I've been used to masturbating or ejaculating daily for 12 years so this really seemed impossible before. It's good to break the habit though, I feel more energetic and lively. My balls are pretty big and hanging low.

Updates to Come

I will update next week or sooner if there is something significant to report. Please feel free to ask questions or share your experience as well. it would be helpful to myself and the many other viewers that are also healing from a cirumcision that read this blog.

  1. I got circed on the 26th of may so more or less we going through the same thing. However, my swelling has gone down drastically and the puffy ring dissappeared a week ago.. My stitches haven't got all out but I'm worried about removing the stitches on the head of the penis, actually removing all of them or just let em dissolve on their own? I read I should remove as it's now 2 weeks..

  2. that's really great your swelling is already gone. huge relief on that part, so congrats. as for stiches, if its been 2 weeks, YES, remove them by now. I'd really recommend seeing your doctor, a urologist, or cosmetic surgeon, or any surgeon.

There's quite a few stiches to remove, I only removed a couple of them on my own which I did very carefully and it took an extra 1-2 weeks of waiting.

If you leave stiches in for too long and they don't dissolve nd fall out, it creats skin holes, not pretty, so yes remove them asap. good luck

  3. PART 1:

Firstly congratulations on your circumcison. I too was circumcised in my adult life. Years of discussion with friends and personal contemplation i finally managed to save the money and get the nerve to have the opperation performed. I am so happy that i have had it done and would do it again in an instant. My circumcision was performed when i was 24. I had an attractve healthy uncircumcised penis beforehand, however i had always wanted to have been circumcised, but as my father is uncircumcised, my parents thought it was unnessecary. I had talked with friends (american roommates) one of which suggested i have the operation. My reasons were for my preference of the cosmetic look, and hygenic/ cleanliness that my cut friends all took for granted. I live in australia and the circumcision rate here is 20-30% however from my experience with friends it seems to be more common amongst those who came from wealthier families and are higher educated. So it is almost like a badge of honor :) I worked during my summer break from university to save for the operation. I had researched it thoroughly and luckily there was a doctor who specialised in circumsiosion just 5 minutes away from my home. I booked a consultation and the doctor assured me that he could give me the results i wanted (high & tight). so i booked the surgery. a week later i came back and had the operation. i was concious throught the whole thing and had only a local anestetic at the base of my penis. throughout the operation i had top ups any time i felt even the slightest hint of pain. the doctor was quite considerate. I looked down a few times during my surgery just to see how it was going. it really wasnt that bad. a lot of blood, but nothing of any real concern. i talked with the doctor the whole time as he circumcised me. At the end of it he gave me a cream to apply when changing bandages, he gave me some instructions on caring for it. told me if i suffered any pain basic pain killers (paracetamol) would suffice. just before i left he told me how corageous he thought i was for having it done and sent me on my way. i drove home and settled into bed for the next few days. Recovery was pretty good. Yes it swelled up alot and erections were painful. but i managed that by curling my legs up to my stomach to give my penis any extra skin to take the pressure off the stitches. other than that, the pain was pretty good. i basically stayed home for 5 days and just took it easy around the house. My penis continued to bleed slightly for a coulple of days and blood spots and that white lymphatic liquid stayed around for about a month. I removed the stitches myself 2 weeks after the operation and all went well. on a scale of 1 to 10 of pain. i would rate it overall as 3 or 4. it really wasnt bad at all. bruising had gone by the time i removed the stitches, but the area near my frenulum took up to a month to heal fully.

  4. PART 2:

the doctor told me it would take up to 12 months to tell the end resuly and at the 6 month point, it had pretty much settled. but i wasnt happy with the result. purely because i had asked for a high and tight cut but i still had a fair bit of skin that would cover the ridge of my glans when flaccid and i had a slight tab where my frenulum hadnt quite healed propperly and formed a little tab. the doctor agreed to recircumcise me and remove more skin and fix my frenulum. the second time wasnt anywhere near as bad as the first time. i can literally compare the pain to a paper cut on your shaft. it wasnt bad at all. healing was at a similar rate and now a year later i love the result. I am quite proud of my penis in its circumcised state, and wear it like a badge of honour. its almost like a right of passage for me. i would never go back. Whats even funnier is 4 months ago i found out that my younger cousin (18) had gotten circumcised for pretty much the same reasons as me. he got his frenulum removed where as mine is still there. and his looks a little looser of a cut than mine, but its cool as we are both now part of the helmet club :) i will definately have my sons (when they arrive) circumcised. Its not a big deal like most people make it out to be (take it from somone who has been circumcised twice as an adult).

as far as your recovery. the circumcision looks like it was done well. i wouldnt worry at all. your doctor looks like he is quite experienced as your 3 week recovery photos look very nicly healed. that swelling is normal, it will go down so i wouldnt worry about it. it could just take up to 6 months for it to be fully back to normal size. you may have a little bit of bunching of skin behind yuor glans when you are fully healed. especially when flacid. but that is purely because you have a loose - medium cut. that and the thickness of your shaft skin will determine the end results. my shaft skin is thickish so although my skin is very tight when i am erect, when i am flaccid and my penis shrinks back down, the skin bunches up a little bit. Ultimately im sure your penis will heal beautifully, if you wanted a little more off you could always have it done again :) my doctor and most give you 12 months after surgery where revisions are free of charge. i hope you are happy. it really is great being cut. welcome to the club :)

I am depressed and have a trauma on it that i was circ'd when i was young and dont had the choice. Dont circ your sons, nobody has the right to make that choice for them. It is a choice that posseble ruin your sons life.

    Dont go there.

  7. Just abut concerned on my 15th day circ. The scar looks uneven . Like one side has healed closer to the glans than the other, and erections are very tight. Taking a closer look at the erect penis, it looks considerably smaller in length than it used to be. Like 2 inches less. Will this revert to normal? Because I'm starting to worry they took too much skin off.

  8. Don't worry about that it look like that cuz the swelling keeps your pines from extending to the full size I just have my circ. 1 week and 1/2 a go and now I notice that my pines look much bigger than before it'll be ok u'll see its just not possible to loss any inches from a circ. and beside skin always can stretch any way so don't worry about that take care and good look to you :-)
